ConDems Coalition
ConDems Coalition
Sorry about the typo, it should be Con Lib Dems Coalition,
have made a small start to increasing inflation, and poverty.
But don’t worry too much they intend to inflict more
pain on the lower paid, and those on benefits this autumn
and over the next 5 years.
James Browne of The
Institute of Fiscal Studies has produced a PDF analysis
in which it reiterates that the treasury confirm the Labour
policies were progressive, where as the ConDems is regressive.
If you are not into figures go straight to page 20.
As expected the report confirms that the lower paid will be
hardest hit, but that has always been Tory policy. The Lib
Dems must be dreading the time when the rules allow local
party members to sack their MP’s, and I suspect a good
few Tories will be worried.
Ian Duncan Smith following the ConDems policy [did it again
didn’t I?] of half truths, when he said the life expectancy
for men was 89 and for women 90. He
was accused of fiddling the figures in an attempt to soften
the idea of “Work till you Drop”
The actual government figures from the National Statistics Office
are 77 for a man and 82 for a woman. The chances are for people
doing a heavy job retiring at 70 are that if they do survive
to pension age, they won’t enjoy it for long.
France was paralysed by strikes when it was suggested that
their retirement age should be increased from 60 to 62yrs.
Vince Cable said that claimants
may see their payments dwindle or dry up after a fixed
period to enable the £193billion to be used to give relief
to other government departments.
David Cameron has been shamed into following Gordon Browns’
example of giving up his right to a PMs pension of £66,000
p.a.
The BA strike, is there a shock coming soon? The general public,
who have seen a 30% reduction in pay, are loosing sympathy with
the strikers.
