We all know we are continually being tracked on camera, wherever we go. Street cameras, backed by facial recognition software, were put there supposedly for our safety; the excuse about our invasion of privacy was ‘that if you are honest, you have nothing to hide! [Except your right to privacy].’ We are all aware that this information can easily be mis-used

Your mobile phone is continually being tracked, every few seconds your phone sends a signal out saying ‘I can see 4 wi-fi networks with these signal strengths’, the response comes back ‘OK you are at the corner of High St. and Main St.’ leaving a traceable trail of where you have been. You can get a piece of free legal software from Locate which will trace and track a mobile phone. So where is your privacy now?

But you are honest with nothing to hide!

How would you like your ‘ex’ to know your every move?

What about your employer, when you phone in to work saying you are sick?

Does your company approve of its reps being tracked by its competitors?

What about your mother tracking you when you go for a night out?

But you are honest and have nothing to hide, apart from your privacy!

Have you ever used your credit card to register for parking using your mobile? Yes they track you, and send you texts when you are running short of money for parking. The same thing happens with congestion charges, and toll charges.

You might use a toll portion of a road regularly, a tunnel or bridge, and have a transponder fitted to your vehicle, so you can go straight through, the transponder records you going through and will charge your credit card once a month. All tracked all traceable. You are tracked if you go through a red light; go in a bus lane, in fact wherever you go.

But you are honest and have nothing to hide, apart from your privacy!

And of course the criminal fraternity can track you, so they know when your house is empty. If you are unfortunate to buy an expensive car from a criminal, after you phoned the advert using your mobile? The criminal keeps a spare key, tracks you to your work place, where you park your car, and very shortly you haven’t got that nice expensive car.

But you are honest and have nothing to hide, apart from your privacy!

A’ Levels and Universities

You would have thought that the Con-Dems would have taken the summer recess to think out some of the policies they have announced , and kept their heads down, but no they are still making blunders by the day.

The ‘A’ level exam results have been announced, but there isn’t enough places to go round, with only the very best marks, do students stand a chance of getting a university place. The ConDem proposed cuts to university funding planned for future years, and possible increases in tuition fees, only the very rich will be able to acquire a place.

The Labour government had set aside funding for an extra 20,000 universities places until 2014, when the ConDems took over they cut this to 10,000, as well as stopping the Schools investment programme for renovating and building new schools. The ConDems did come up with the idea of stopping the free school meals programme for those living in poverty, and using this money to fund their idea of the new ‘Free Schools’ to be run by parents and interested faith groups. When asked on television how many actual extra university places were available to students, the Universities Minister David Willetts declined to answer the question, saying that students should consider working for a year, or joining an apprenticeship scheme or, trying for an extra year at college. When he was asked who paid for his university education, he replied the taxpayer, justifying it by saying that in his day only 10% went to university, ‘i.e. the upper class’ . The funding for the supposed extra places was to come from allowing rich students to pay off their loans early.

Facebook 'Dislike' button

3 of the Latest Scams

There is a new virus going round attached to the "Facebook Disilike Button".Somebody has produced a 'Dislike' button for Facebook which contains a nasty virus. If you have put it on your facebook page, there are instructions at the bottom of this post which should get rid of it.

Other scams going round include the old "Telephone advert scam". This has been targeted at website owners by email : the email contains what apears to be a reputable online directory. The email looks like this :-

Payment has not been received for your advert on:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com

Can you let me know when you will be sending this so I can take you off the system if you are not proceeding?

It is poorly done, They guess at a name, [and get it wrong] use a Googlemail email address to send out the email and for replies,[ instead of using a company server] and send the email out at the weekend.

The scams to get your bank details are getting more sofisticated, with fake log in pages and the ability to reproduce your current statement. If you are asked to confirm any log in details, don't. Only use the link to your bank you have stored in your favourites.

The information should get rid of the "Dislike Button" virus.

You turn your computer on and most of them you press F9 or F10

Its ask how to turn your computer on You pick SAFE NETWORK MODE

then log in go to control panel add or remove programs

find it and delete it

turn your computer off and turn it back on the way you usually do

that's what I did with the last Virus I had and it worked

Beat twitter limits with Tweetadder.

If you haven’t followed the series so far, or haven’t downloaded the free version of Tweetadder now is the time to do it.

Whether you are a first time user to Tweetadder, or have been using it for some time you will definitely generate more followers using this method.

Twitter limits the number of follows you can send in a day. The limit is 1.1 to 1, or in simple terms you can send out follows to the maximum of 10% of the number of people who are following you.

We are going to use as an example a Twitter account with 5,000 followers. [Using Tweetadder and these methods, this will take you about 6 to 8 weeks] I have a number of twitter accounts, and have built them up in different niche markets, with a combined following of well over 1 million so I know this method works. If you have a twitter account with 5,000 followers, twitter will allow you to send a total of 500 follows. Using the recommended Tweetadder of a 3 day cycle you will send out 166 on each of 3 days, before unfollowing those that have not followed you back. That means on day 1 you have 166 follows out there, day 2 you have 332 follows out there, and from day 3 you have 500.

The post “Be a Guest Blogger” was widely read, and resulted in a massive increase in the number of people who subscribed to the feed and to an average of 200 extra people a day who followed us on Twitter.

The article “How to Use Twitter Effectively ” also had an equally successful reception. Both these blogs show the very effective method of using 3 different blog intro’s to the same article. Check them out on these blogs. On our site, on our server, and on Googles’ Blogspot.

1 For Beginners .

Twitter has been described as a ”Mini Blogging Platform” I think the best way to describe it is as “An Open Text to the world”

You can set up a personal or business Twitter account or both here, you will be joining 80 mill other Twitter users. You will need a username, and an email account. The first thing you have to decide is whether any body can read your tweets, this is what most people do, or whether to make your tweets ‘private’. If you wish to send tweets just to your friends, you should click the tab to make your tweets private. For instance, if you want to keep in touch with your old school friends, who may be spread worldwide. Apart from customising your twitter background easily and for free, this is all you need to read. There are other sites for free backgrounds, with this one, if you sign in with your twitter account, it is only 1 simple click to upload your new background. You might recognise one of them on my twitter account .

If you want your Twitter site to be seen by thousands of people or have a business Twitter account, and want thousands of targeted followers there is a little forward planning to be done before you start.

2 Increase your followers at super speed.

Lets assume first of all you are going to have a personal twitter account, which you can make money from, that is, you are going to sell something using your Twitter followers as potential customers. If you don’t have a web site to do this, the easiest way is as an affiliate. [More about this later] There are affiliate sites for everything; Amazon was the first company to use affiliates successfully. You are paid a small commission on the sales of people you send to your affiliate site. You get paid on your referrals subsequent sales, even if they by pass your twitter account and go direct to the affiliate site. Commissions vary from a few pennies to several hundred dollars. Coalition Split?

Coalition Split?

The Conservatives have started to open the split between themselves and the Lib-Dems . Vince Cable the Business Secretary announced plans for a ‘Graduate tax’ for university students; this was later overruled by the Tories who preferred students to pay the Universities Direct. Tory ministers are said to prefer a system where some graduates pay more, generating more places for the rich and the overseas students, depriving working class students of places . Labour called this ‘shambolic’

The Conservatives distanced themselves from the Lib Dems after Nick Cleggs’ firs t , and probably last, P.M.s question time, when he said the Iraq war was illegal. Many Tories who voted for the Iraq war took it as a personal attack on them.

David Cameron belittled Britain , the country he is supposed to promote, when he told the Americans that Britain was a junior partner to America in 1940 in the war against Germany. In fact the Americans weren’t interested in helping Britain in 1940, It wasn’t until 1941 after Pearl Harbour was bombed, that the Americans joined.

I will apologise to the British Public on behalf of David Cameron who can’t remember the tremendous sacrifices the British people made during that terrible war, or even when they made them. The British people fought for the freedom of this country and others, most of whom are grateful, and wouldn’t dream of belittling what their ancestors did for Britain. Cameron may not respect the memories of those who died in order that we might live in a free country, with freedom of speech, but the British people respect those memories with pride.

In a recent poll carried out for Newsnight 42% of Lib-Dem voters would not have voted for their party if they had known they would be part of a coalition. On the Conservative side only 14% said they would not have voted for their party if they had known of their leader’s intention to form a coalition.

60% of Tory voters felt their party had been weakened by the coalition with the Lib-Dems: They felt they no longer knew what their party stood for.

53% of the Lib-Dems felt their party had been weakened by the coalition with the Tories.

Lord Ashdown, when interviewed on Newsnight, suggested he would like to see the government "make haste a bit more slowly" and that it was sometimes wiser to test new policies out in pilot schemes before making decisions.

Sir Alan budds resignation

Sir Alan Budd the head of the OBR [Office of Budget Responsibility] is to step down in the summer. It is reported that he had said in private that he intended to resign after the first set of reports were completed. No successor has yet been found although the coalition has now started to advertising for one. With the government having 3 months notice of his intention to resign, it would have been logical they would have attempted and succeeded in finding a replacement, prior to Sir Alan Budd’s intention to step down was made public.

" His announcement comes after the treasury leaked information to the press regarding the unemployment figures, and after it was discovered that David Cameron had been passed the “up to date” unemployment figures 2 minutes before he announced them in parliament, hoping to wrong-foot the opposition who didn’t have these figures. Sir Alan brought forward the publication of the data following an earlier leak to a newspaper, but told the Treasury select committee this week that Mr Cameron's use of the figures was "not appropriate”.

This was the catalyst which prompted the feeling that the OBR had lost its creditability. Bearing in mind that the OBR works out of the treasury, and uses treasury staff, it did lend weight to this theory, especially when you consider the treasury sat in on the coalition talks and advised the coalition, when it was only supposed to advise the government, which at that time was the Labour Party. Add to that, the disclosure this week that when the press and public tried to contact the OBR by telephone, the treasury intercepted and answered those calls .

Sir Alan said "However, the fact that we were operating in the Treasury and relying on official resources has raised doubts about our independence in some quarters,"

Google Squeezes the Sqeeze Page

Google are penalising web sites with ‘Squeeze pages’. Squeeze pages were and still are to some web sites the holy grail for collecting email addresses. These are the short pages that give you a taster of what is to come, provided you leave your name and email address.

Many people are put off by these, me included. I subscribe to one of the biggest mailing list in the world, giving me information about everything that is new on the web. The weekly email I receive has articles written by their own writers, and experts in other fields. The email gives you a short paragraph, from which you decide to read the full article or skip it. If you decide to read the article you are taken to a ‘squeeze’ page which gives you a little more information, then you part with your name and email address to read the rest. [The extra information was there to fool the search engines into thinking this was fresh information] The only problem with that is that you are now on the sites email list. The big problem is when you get 5 or 6 identical emails on the same day from the same site, you have to start unsubscribing from all but one of them.

Google index every word on our website, as well as most others, so they know when information is being duplicated, and are now penalizing web sites for this. They also know when other sites are stealing material, and calling it their own work.
